On-The-Job Training

The New Frederick Douglass Memorial Bridge Project has on-the-job training opportunities for design staff, trades and contractor staff. Hiring for Crafts and Trades is governed by a Project Labor Agreement (PLA) in coordination with the District Department of Transportation and CHOICE, (Baltimore-DC Metro Building and Construction Trades Council). The PLA is a pre-hire collective bargaining agreement that establishes project employment terms. Craft and Trades on-the-job-training positions will be filled through CHOICE. in accordance with the PLA.

Design and engineering opportunities

The New Frederick Douglass Memorial Bridge Project will provide on-the-job training opportunities aimed at developing individuals in the design and engineering classifications.

Trade Opportunities

The New Frederick Douglass Memorial Bridge Project will provide on-the-job training opportunities aimed at transitioning individuals to journeyman status in the trade and job classifications.
